Chucks Tex-Mex Loaded Chicken Burger
Ingredients
1 sesame brioche bun
1 Chucks frozen crispy chicken fillet
3 tablespoons Tex-Mex cheese sauce
1 jalapeños, sliced (fresh or pickled)
2 tablespoons salsa
1 handful of lettuce, shredded
Saucy, cheesy, and packing a kick — this loaded Tex-Mex burger turns Chucks crispy chicken fillet into a high-impact flavour bomb. Not for the faint-hearted!
STEP 1
Preheat the air fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 170°C.
STEP 2
Place 1 Chucks frozen crispy chicken fillet in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 14 minutes, turning halfway through.
STEP 3
While the fillet is cooking, warm 3 tablespoons Tex-Mex cheese sauce in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth and pourable. Keep warm until ready to assemble.
STEP 4
Lightly toast the base of 1 sesame brioche bun in a dry pan over medium heat until golden. This adds crunch and stops the bun going soggy under all that sauce!
STEP 5
Check the fillet is piping hot and crispy all the way through before building your burger.
STEP 6
Layer 1 handful of lettuce, shredded on the toasted bun base. Place the crispy chicken fillet on top, then drizzle generously with 3 tablespoons Tex-Mex cheese sauce. Spoon over 2 tablespoons of salsa and pile on sliced jalapeños (fresh or pickled). Crown with the bun lid and serve immediately.
Notes
For extra heat, use fresh jalapeños instead of pickled. Want it even saucier? Double up on the cheese sauce, no judgement here. Toasting the bun is highly recommended to hold up against all that saucy goodness!
